Hundreds of Billions of VND Earmarked to Assist Disadvantaged People

The central province of Nghe An has put aside over VND270 billion to give presents to poor laborers and revolutionary contributors during the lunar New Year while the central province of Thua Thien – Hue plans to assist beneficiaries with VND9 billion. In Nghe An province, the money will be used to give regular assistance to 86,000 people, to social beneficiaries along with presents for the elderly and revolutionary contributors. The Nghe An provincial People’s Committee will also give Tet presents to nearly 14,000 poor families, assist over 600,000 people with 9,000 tons of rice while the provincial sponsor fund for children will also earmark money to give presents to children in 4 mountainous districts. In Thua Thien – Hue province, the money will benefit 82,000 beneficiaries who will not enjoy the State President’s gifts. (cpv.org.vn Jan 4)
