Hong Kong GreenFeed Provides Free-Loan to Support Vietnam Breeders

Hong Kong animal feed producer GreenFeed Vietnam and Tuoi Tre Newspaper have provided VND840 million worth of loans at free interest rates to farmers in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong and Dak Nong. The non-interest loans are expected to help local households maintain or develop their breeding or farming projects to ensure a better life for their children and to support their study. Under the program, each poor farming household will receive a loan of VND12 million for two-year period together with a volume of animal feed produced by GreenFeed worth VND2 million. GreenFeed also pledged to provide technical assistance in animal husbandry for farmers. The program spent VND3 billion in helping farming households in Long An, Dong Nai, Binh Dinh and Hung Yen provinces in the first phase during the 2010-2012 period. The program organizers expect to raise its fund to VND10 billion to assist 480 households in Binh Thuan, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and Quang Nam. (Vietnam News July 24)
