HCM City Sets Credit Fund for Poor

The HCMC government will establish a credit fund for the poor to help them improve their housing, income and living standards. The program is part of a plan by the HCM City People’s Committee to prioritize funding for upgrading of urban projects from now until 2015 to help improve living standards of residents in the city.  As per the plan, 100 percent of the residents will have access to potable fresh water, 100 percent houses on unsafe locations will be relocated and 100 per cent of solid waste will be properly disposed off by 2020. The city will gear up to meet efficient traffic standards, improve wastewater treatment systems, environmental sanitation and drainage systems. (saigon-gpdaily.com.vn June 27)
