Hanoi to Build Over 3,700 Houses for The Poor

Hanoi has planned to build and repair 3,780 houses for the poor in the final two months of the year with an expected cost of nearly VND 95 billion. Each family will be assisted with VND 20 million. In addition, poor families are allowed to borrow VND 8 million over a 10 year period from the Bank for Social Policies to build houses. The families receiving funding are part of 116,000 poor families, which account for 7.52% of Hanoi’s total families, of which these 3,780 families are living in inadequate houses and cannot afford to either repair it or build a new house.
