Grenade Explosion Kills Two Children in Dak Nong

Two children have died and six others injured in a grenade explosion on Tuesday afternoon in Thuan An Commune, Dak My District in the Central Highland Province of Dak Nong. Deputy chairman of the commune's People's Committee Nguyen Van Cuong said that two of the victims, all aged 11, died on the way to hospital while the others were sent to the provincial General Hospital for treatment. They are said to all be in critical condition. The children reportedly found and picked up the grenade on their way home from school. They gave it to each other without knowing the danger. The grenade has been identified as a M79 left from the American war, according to provincial Military Command. Local authorities have made donations to support the victims' families and have been investigating the case. Rainfall after the incident however has hindered the investigation process.
