Government, Front Enhance Coordination In Sustainable Poverty Reduction

The Government and the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee have issued a joint resolution on coordination in implementing sustainable poverty reduction and building new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas. The resolution stipulates the responsibilities of all-level fatherland front committees and the VFF’s member organizations in working with state agencies of the same level to supervise the implementation of sustainable poverty reduction and the building of new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas. It also clarifies the responsibilities of the Government, ministries, central-level agencies and localities in coordinating and creating favorable conditions for fatherland front committees of the same level and the VFF’s member organizations to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction and build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas. The contents of collaboration between the two sides include mobilizing the whole people to join the campaign, and conducting supervision and social feedback of the VFF and socio-political organizations to sustainable poverty reduction and the building of new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas. The objectives of collaboration are to raise awareness and strengthen accountability at all levels within relevant agencies and organizations, and to create synchronous, effective and close coordination between the Government and the VFF Central Committee in working towards target programs for sustainable poverty reduction and the construction of new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas. Through the VFF-launched campaign “The whole people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas,” all-level fatherland front committees and socio-political organizations will conduct supervision and social feedback to ensure that State and non-State resources are effectively distributed and used for the right purposes, towards realizing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and construction of new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas.
