Gov’t To Issue Pro-Poor Policy for 24 Poorest Districts

The Government has tasked the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to design budget assistance policy for 24 districts with high poverty rate. The policy must be submitted to the Government before October 15, 2012. According to the Ministry, there are still 24 districts with the poverty rate from 45% to under 50%, including Vu Quang and Huong Khe (Ha Tinh Province) and A Luoi (Thua Thien-Hue Province). These districts are not in the list of other 62 poorest districts defined under the Resolution 30a/2008/NQ-CP. The Resolution was issued on April 25, 2011 by the Prime Minister to support fast and sustainable development in the 62 poorest districts (news.gov.vn Sept 26)
