Google Vows to Support Vietnam HCMC in Digital Transformation in Education

Google for Education is willing to partner with the Department of Education and Training of Vietnam’s southern Ho Chi Minh City to support the city in digital transformation in education, said Mr. Paul Hutchings, director of Google for Education in Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

Meeting with Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Duong Anh Duc on August 9, Mr. Paul Hutchings briefed the local official on the launch of Google’s Workspace for Education in HCMC. He stated that the company would support the city in training staff and information technology administrators and offer consulting about digital training programs, Big Data, and artificial intelligence.

Workspace for Education will help connect teachers and students, develop a culture of communication, improve cooperation skills on the digital platform, and enhance the learning quality of local students, he emphasized.

In reply, Mr. Duc stressed that HCMC is very interested in training high-quality human resources for digital transformation, enhancing vocational training, and improving higher education quality based on technology tools.

He also hoped to expand cooperation between the city’s education department and Google for Education in digital transformation in education.
