Germany to Fund EUR4.53M for Health Project in Central Vietnam

The German Reconstruction Credit Institute (KfW) will lend EUR4.53 million to a project on purchasing medical equipment and managing hospital waste in Vietnam’s central province of Phu Yen. KfW and local authorities have signed a memorandum on understanding on the aid, the Tien Phong newspaper reported. Of the sum, EUR3 million will be spent on providing medical devices for cancer ward of the provincial general hospital, obstetrics-pediatrics hospital and general hospitals in the districts of Dong Xuan, Tuy An, Son Hoa, Tay Hoa and the rest will be for building waste management systems at these hospitals. This is part of the province’s program to upgrading health system in the 2011-2013 period, aiming to better medical services for local residents.
