German Embassy to Support School Upgrades in Central Vietnam

The German Embassy in Hanoi will help Vietnam’s central province of Nghe An improve school facilities in rural areas this year, said an official. The embassy will coordinate with the provincial Department of Education and Training to fund the purchases of new chairs, tables, teacher desks and closets for six primary and secondary schools in isolated areas. Some schools will be also repainted or had their playground paved. “The support will help improve the teaching and learning environment in disadvantaged areas of the province,” Nguyen Dang Khoi, principal at Hau Thanh secondary school, said. Over the past years, the German embassy in Vietnam has supported many projects to improve the quality of life of villagers in rural Vietnam, renovate health centers and clinics, improve facilities, and buy equipment for schools and vocational centers in rural areas.
