Four Vietnamese Universities Receive European Accreditation from HCERES

On June 14, the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES), an independent administrative authority in France responsible for evaluating research and higher education institutions, awarded European standard accreditation certificates to four Vietnamese higher education institutions for the second cycle.

The institutions include Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, University of Science and Technology (University of Danang), and University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City).

This marks the second time these institutions have met the European HCERES quality standards, with the certification valid for five years, from April 10, 2024, to April 10, 2029.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son stated that being re-accredited by HCERES not only demonstrates that these higher education institutions meet the standards in three evaluated areas but also signifies steps toward continuous quality improvement, enhanced management systems, and restructuring to improve student support.

The HCERES certification recognizes full and stringent compliance with three international quality standards, namely (i) strategic management and operations; (ii) research, innovation, and application of science; and (iii) education policies, student support, and the learning environment.
