Exhibition Draws Attention to Ethnic Minority’s Poverty
An exhibition featuring 23 black-and-white photos of poor children of the Hmong ethnicity in northern Vietnam has been opened in Hanoi. Titling his exhibition “Look”, photographer Dang Xuan Truong hopes to make people aware of the hard life of the Hmong children. Instead of focusing on technical aspects as light, layout and camera angel, Truong devotes his energy to deliver his message. In all of the photos, backgrounds are blurred to draw attention to the telling eyes of the children. The photos were taken in 6 years during Truong’s motorbike trips to bring clothes and confection to poor children in the northern region. The exhibition will run until April 27 at the Culture and Art Exhibition Center, 29 Hang Bai Street. (Tuoi Tre online April 27)
