Decathlon Vietnam Co. Ltd. Supports AO Victims ahead of Tet Holiday

The Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange (VAVA) has recently received 3,500 presents from the Decathlon Vietnam Co. Ltd., for the victims of Agent Orange. The giving started a program to give presents to AO victims during the lunar New Year (Tet) organized by VAVA. The presents, warm clothes, will be allocated to the victims across 30 provinces and cities which suffer from prolonged cold spells in winter, according to senior lieutenant-general, Nguyen Van Rinh, VAVA President. The VAVA president added that the program on visiting and giving presents to the victims would last until February 16th, attempting to cover 1 million victims. During the lunar New Year festival, apart from 250,000 presents from the State President, the associations of victims of Agent Orange in provinces and cities committed to mobilize 700,000 presents for the victims. In particular, the VAVA Central Committee will give 1,000 presents worth VND500,000 each and 7 charitable houses to poor families who are homeless or live in inadequate houses in the two northern mountainous provinces of Cao Bang and Bac Kan. Moreover, the VAVA is expected to send a number of delegations to visit and distribute presents to the victims in mountainous and remote areas. (Dangcongsan Jan 26)
