Dak Lak Province: Over VND378B to Help the Poor
According to the People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, in the 2006-2010 period, during the implementation of Government’s program on boosting socio-economic development in mountainous and remote areas, over VND 378 billion was invested in 35 extremely disadvantaged communes and 81 villages. Nhandan newspaper reported that under the program, VND 41 billion was spent on supporting production, and over VND 176 billion on building 375 infrastructure constructions. However, slow progress was reported in the implementation of projects relating to support for poor school pupils, vocational training for ethnic minority people and the inspection of construction projects.
