Czech Pledges More ODA for Vietnam Next Years

The Czech is willing to cooperate and support Vietnam in the fields which the European country has advantages and will continue to provide official development assistance (ODA) to Vietnam. Czech Minister of Industry and Trade, Martin Kocourex made the commitment at a meeting with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in the capital city of Hanoi on Oct 12. Kocourex noted that more than 50 Czech firms want to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam during the visit. He proposed that the two governments continue to create favorable conditions to promote cooperation and investment among businesses effectively. At the meeting, Ninh said that the Vietnamese government affirmed that it will create more favorable conditions for Czech companies to do business in the country. At present, Vietnam gives priority to developing infrastructure and reducing poverty. Therefore, Vietnam hopes to receive cooperation and support from the Czech in the future, especially in technical assistance from Czech experts in mechanics and industry. He also emphasized that Vietnam has made great efforts to take measures to reduce the impact of the global economic crisis on its economy and achieved initial results in recent times.
