Charity For The Poor To Be Established

Young musician, Duong Cam, and singer, Cam Tu, are going to set up a charity, titled “Uoc nguyen” (“Wish”), with the donations of 40% of the sales of their joint products. The decision was made after they had learnt about a young girl, named Nguyen Thi Nguyen, who had combated her deadly disease to draw paintings, compose poems and write stories. And so, the co-founders decided to cooperate in a project for the community. The name ”Uoc nguyen” interprets the strong will of the poor but determined Nguyen Thi Nguyen, whose online community is called “Suong thuy tinh” (“Glass Dew”). Under this project, a DVD, completed in the USA to international standards, has been released with five songs about poor fates with strong will, including Uoc nguyen (Wish), Em toi (My younger sibling), Uoc mo cua em (Her dream), Va toi van buoc di (And I keep walking). Besides, a short book featuring Nguyen Thi Nguyen’s confidence in life has been also made public. Around US $40,000 has been pumped into this project. (www.qdnd.vn Feb 21)
