Chairman Joins Mong FESTIVAL in Son La

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung joined a Mong ethnic minority Tet celebration for their traditional festival on January 6 in Long Luong commune, Moc Chau district, as part of his tour to the northwestern province of Son La. The top legislator was pleased that the living conditions of the local residents have improved while preserving their cultural identity, customs and lifestyle. He also praised the tradition of unity as well as the fighting sprit the Mong demonstrated in the national resistance wars against French colonialism and US imperialism, as well as in national construction and defense. Their solidarity has been passed down through generation of Mong people, strengthening the great national unity bloc and the country’s development, he said. Chairman Hung asked the local authorities to promote the advantages of the province's geographical location, as well as its tourism potential and abundant human resources, to attract more investment in services, agriculture, cultural and tourism development, and poverty reduction. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Chairman Hung sent his best wishes to ethnic Mong people in Long Luong commune, Moc Chau district and all of Son La province and across the country on the occasion of their New Year holiday.
