Binh Dinh Poor Students Get VND677 Billion As Loans

More than 47,000 poor students in Binh Dinh have been provided with preferential loans worth in total VND 677 billion (around $32.5 million) over the past three years. In response to the Government’s Decision No 157/2007/QD-TTg on lending for students in difficulty, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policy (VBSP) – Binh Dinh branch has collaborated with the provincial authority to provide students with an opportunity to access preferential credit. The Branch co-ordinates with Agribank, Vietinbank and other credit institution organisations to issue special ATM accounts named ‘Students Start-Up’ in order to assist students to have easier and safer access to loans.
