Bac Lieu Province Helps 3,000 Households Escape Poverty

Thanks to assistance from Party committees, authorities and unions in providing loans, seeds and production methods over the past year, the southern province of Bac Lieu has helped over 3,100 families escape poverty. In 2011, 74 agencies helped 509 poor families with assistance worth VND 2.8 billion; of which 362 families escaped poverty. In addition, seven districts and cities spent VND 9.4 billion assisting 4,445 families, pulling 2,775 families from poverty. In 2012, the province will strive to help 5,310 families escape poverty.
