Bac Kan Raises $1B for Charity

The remote northern province of Bac Kan has launched the Month for Poor People charity program for offices and businesses. It has received more than VND24 billion ($1.1 million) from offices, enterprises and individuals so far. The money has been handed over for building and upgrading schools and charity homes, and for medical treatment for poor women and children. (Vietnam News Oct 19)
