150-Kg Wartime Bomb Unearthed In Central Vietnam

An unexploded 150-kilogram bomb leftover from the Vietnam War was unearthed in the central province of Nghe An on Monday, reported the online newspaper Dan Tri. A group of searching for unexploded ordinances (UXOs) found it in a paddy field in Vinh City's Dong Vinh Commune. They found the 1.2 meter long bomb with its fuse intact three meters below ground, they said. It was then removed in order to be defused. During the Vietnam War, the Dong Vinh Commune was a fierce battlefield, where many UXOs were left behind. The same day, another unexploded 150-kilogram bomb and two mortar shells were removed from a river embankment in the central province of Ha Tinh. (Thanh Nien-Young People July 10)
