Mission of the position:
- Takes a leading role in steering and the operational roll out of Results Based Management (RBM) in SOS Children’s Villages including alignment of existing programme processes and RBM processes.
- Leads the documentation of learnings, develop quality management measures of RBM implementation, and animate RBM community of practice in locations.
- Plays a key role in capacity building of SOS co-workers and ensures the involvement of all departments in RBM implementation.
The Result Based Management Coordinator is responsible for:
- RBM capacity building for locational and national co-workers
- Conduct, monitor and reporting RBM implementation within assigned locations in collaboration with the national and regional RBM teams
- Support use of results for strategic planning and decision-making of national and regional management teams and other relevant GSC co-workers
- Ensure that implementation of RBM is discussed at relevant national and regional meetings
- Ensure the quality of RBM implementation, processes and associated tools through periodic reviews and comments from IOR RBM team members
- Document learnings on RBM implementation
- Lead the development of tools, systems and structures to support development of RBM systems and the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programme results
- Provide advice and support to locations and national management team on resource allocation and prioritization of results-based management processes in terms of priority
- Ensure alignment with other internal processes, especially with IPD, to increase synergies
- Ensure awareness and availability of adequate resources for RBM implementation in mid-term plans and annual plans
- Develop briefings for national and regional management teams about RBM implementation process in the national and ensure the same process at the location level
- Acts as point of contact for International Office RBM Coordinator
- Coordinate involvement of and maintain close links to SOS Children’s Villages International Reps and relevant functions
- Provide capacity building on Results Based Management to IOR co-workers and other relevant key staff members
- Advocate for Results Based Management approach in programmes; participate in awareness raising and knowledge sharing such as: peer-to-peer exchanges, contribute to the RBM blog, share lessons learned with the national, regional and IO RBM teams.
Must criteria:
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area, e.g. development studies, community development, public policy & planning, social sciences, etc.
- At least 5 years’ work experience in the community development field.
- Proven leadership and people management skills, with at least 3-5 years’ management experience.
- Expertise in implementing M & E Systems.
- Positive and professional approach. Ability to work independently, self-organise, use initiative, fulfil commitments and meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including written and spoken English and the ability to communicate at multiple levels in the organisation.
- Well-developed facilitation, group leadership and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop guidelines and tools, and oversee their implementation.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Experience using an array of statistical, analytical, database and other standard software (e.g.: SPSS, STATA, etc.)
- Able and willing to travel within locations and sometimes internationally.
- A team player who is culturally astute, respectful and tolerant.
- Experience in conducting project evaluations and related methodology (quantitative and qualitative).
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of RBM, involvement in RBM project and development of RBM approach; social development issues such as children’s rights, OVC, Gender, etc
- Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-site organisation with a matrix structure and a geographically-dispersed team. Passion and ability to drive successful RBM implementation in locations
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder and reconcile (sometimes) diverging views of different functions and/or Member Association, Regional Office and International Office
- Experienced in SOS world (structure, standards, cooperation, etc.)
