Job Title: TRAINING & OUTREACH OFFICER
Report to: Marketing Coordinator
Job summary:
The Training/Outreach Officer is responsible for identifying, implementing and actively promoting best practices in face-to-face communication – including outreach, community mobilization and market-based group engagement - as a key component of PSI’s integrated, multi-channel behavior change communication campaigns designed to motivate healthier behaviors to reduce STI/HIV, malaria, safe water/hygiene, tuberculosis and other health risks among rural and marginalized populations in Vietnam.
Major duties:
- Ensure highly participatory and on-message facilitation of all interpersonal communication activities through training/coaching/monitoring MCs as well as IPC agents and
- by co-facilitating market and community-based events.
- Design, implement and document highly participatory training exercises—consistent with adult learning theory and global training best practices—for health providers and
- field communicators (IPC agents, Village Health Workers, Outreach Workers, etc.)
- Develop and disseminate tools and documents to promote best practices related to effective face-to-face communication, integrating international best practices for
- outreach, medical detailing and provider behavior change.
- Utilize field-based observations, MIS data analysis, pre/post training, TraC T data, and provider/outlet audit data to analyze training and outreach results and identify
- recommendations for improvements.
- Generate UIC coverage among PWID and other priority audiences, via LDSS’s NTO outlets in Ha Noi in line with weekly targets to be set by Product Social Marketing
- team.
- Effectively monitor and coach outreach teams in the field and provide meaningful feedback/ practical solution to PSI office.
- Represent PSI with partners at provincial level to support the design and implementation of effective training & face-to-face communication
Selection criteria:
- University degree in communications, education, public health, social science or other related field.
- Prior experience designing & leading participatory training exercises for OW and/or medical providers
- Prior experience developing or monitoring outreach or interpersonal communication
- Outgoing personality, proven ability in showing initiative and creativity to solve problems
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking, and verbal as well as written communication skills
