Regional Water Policy and Planning Expert
Mekong River Commission
The Mekong River Commission (MRC) is the only inter-governmental agency that works directly with the governments of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand, and Viet Nam on joint management of shared water resources and sustainable development of the Mekong River.
As a regional facilitating and advisory body governed by water and environment ministers of the four countries, the MRC aims to ensure that the Mekong water is managed and developed in the most efficient and sustainable manner—that mutually benefits all Member Countries and minimises harmful effects on people and the environment in the Lower Mekong River Basin.
The MRC Secretariat in Vientiane, Lao PDR, is now recruiting a highly-qualified candidate for the position of:

Qualifications and Requirements:
- University degree(s) (Master or higher) in development planning, water resources management, or relevant field;
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience holding the position of increasing responsibility for river basin planning and management in international river basin;
- Proven experience in facilitating technical dialogue on sensitive water management issues; and
- A deep understanding of the MRC Procedures and the implementation of PNPCA Prior Consultation processes undertaken to date.
- Immediate availability will be considered an advantage.
