Project Officer
Job Description of Project Officer
The Project Office of the Danish Association of Physically disabled persons or DHF, in Vietnam is supporting the implementation of a 3 year project under the title: Capacity Strengthening and Organizational Development for Disabled Persons’ Associations (DPOs) at provincial and districts levels. The project partners include: The Vietnam Federation on Disability (VFD) and the DPOs of Hanoi, Hanam, Namdinh, Thaibinh, Thainguyen, Haiduong.
Three main outcomes of the project are: increasing leadership and management skills for DPO leaders; improvement of membership and advocacy.
The project duration is 2017-2020.
The office is looking for the candidates for the position of Project Officer. The details of the post are as follows:
Responsibilities:
1. In capacity building:
- Assisting in technical preparation for project activities including joint training, joint activities, task force meetings,
- Provide coaching for partner’s organization in a hands-on manner on issues relating to office management and small projects.
- Join needs assessment and other missions organized by the project office and be responsible for specific role as assigned.
- Taking part in the TOT course to enhance trainer’s skills and technical knowledge on OD in general (optional)
- Assist in evaluation of project activities by the participants and feed back to the M&E staff.
2. In logistics issues:
- Acting as secretary for meetings of Project Board or other meetings between the Project Office and the partners
- Be responsible for all logistical support for joint training, joint activities, meetings, workshops, etc. inside and outside Hanoi.
- Be in charge of logistical support for monitoring missions of DHF staff to Vietnam
- Translate documents relating to the project implementation from English to Vietnamese and vice-versa
- Follow up on office status and other relevant issues and those relating to procedural requirements by the Vietnamese authorities.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the project management.
3. In admin issues:
- Assist in M&E activities by collecting data from activities to hand over to the M&E staff.
- Assist in payment for participants of project activities when needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the project management.
Qualifications and competences:
- At least university diploma in development, sociology, law, or other social subjects.
- 5 years of experience of work in NGO organizations and good knowledge in LFA, participative approach, human rights based approach.
- Fluency in English and Vietnamese as mother tongue
- Experience in working with people of grass root level
- Good knowledge about development issues in Vietnam an advantage
- Commitment in working in a team and supporting each other to fulfil the common goal.
- Ability to join mission outside Hanoi for 2 or 3 days consecutively.
- Commitment to working with the project to its closure in 2020.
- Knowledge on disability is an asset.
- Immediate availability.
Salary range:
Starting from 18 million VND gross with annual increase according to performance.
