National Junior Consultant – Research Support
Job title: National Junior Consultant, Research Support
Starting Date: ASAP
Reporting to: Senior Programme Officer, Research and Policy
Position Type: Vietnamese national post, full-time (5 working days/week).
A part time position may be negotiable.
Contract duration: Five months
Position Title: National Junior Consultant, Research Support
Responsibilities
- Support the finalisation of the National Integrity System Study – a qualitative research piece
- Provide additional reference checking, updating data and additional background research where necessary
- Proofread and review reports to ensure consistency between the English and Vietnamese texts
- Support the organization of the workshops to share findings and discuss recommendations
- Provide support on local government transparency project
- Support in preparation and organisation of field trips
- Undertake translation of documents and interpretation with partners and stakeholders
- Assist in administrative work
- Regularly monitor legal and policy developments in anti-corruption and produce internal Anti-Corruption Updates
People management responsibility: None
Budget management responsibility: None
Reporting line: To Senior Programme Officer, Research and Policy
This is an office based consultancy. The National Junior Consultant is expected to work full time in TT’s office and will be provided with a laptop, desk and other necessary equipment for work purposes.
Job requirements
Skills and requirements:
- Post-graduate Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Economics, Law or in another relevant field
- 1-2 years assisting in research or advocacy; International experience will be a strong advantage
- Excellent skills in desk research (including online research) and data collection
- Good knowledge about law, public policy issues, legal and political system in Vietnam
- Previous experience in organising workshops and meetings will be an advantage
- Close attention to detail
- Good writing, translating and communication skills (English and Vietnamese)
- Proficiency in standard office software packages, especially MS Word, Powerpoint and Excel

- Strong and demonstrated interest and commitment to anti-corruption
- A reputation for and commitment to integrity and honesty
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Patience and diligence
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines at a high level of quality
Compensation
Ranging from gross rate of 10-18 million VND per month depending on experience.
