JOB TITLE:  Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Location:                       Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam
Contract Type:               Local, Full Time (100% FTE)
Duration:                      01 year (with possibility of extension based on performance and funds availability)

BACKGROUND:

Friends for International Tuberculosis Relief (FIT) is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care service delivery, technical assistance, advocacy and research.

In collaboration with the National TB Control Program (NTP) and other partners, we are implementing innovative TB projects across 18 provinces of Viet Nam.  Our work aims to 1) increase TB detection and treatment in key populations; 2) provide social support and adherence monitoring to improve TB treatment outcomes; and 3) scale-up preventive TB treatments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Train field staff on project data systems and SOPs
• Conduct field work to assess how data systems are being used in the field
• Suggest data system upgrades based on field visits
• Verify and clean data collected by the field team
• Develop templates for data reports
• Analyze project data and make weekly and quarterly data reports
• Create data visualizations to help field teams interpret project data
• Facilitate operational research studies
• Other activities requested by FIT management

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

Essential

• Detail oriented
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work well in a team setting
• Ability multi-task
• Proficient in MS Excel

Desirable

• Experience working on health programs or health research, particularly for TB
• On the job training will provided for MS Access and Power BI.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• A Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, preventive medicine epidemiology, biostatistics/statistics, economics or related fields and at least one year of relevant work experience are required

LANGUAGES REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in Vietnamese and English (both written and verbal) is required
