Local Student Intern
Duration: July 16, 2012 to Sep 30, 2012 (total not exceed to 30 working days – full or part time)
1. Introduction
USAID’ Avian and Pandemic Influenza Initiative (APII) is a three-year project implemented by Abt Associates Inc. (2009-2012). The project aims to build the capacity of the Government of Vietnam and its counterparts to identify, prevent, and control influenza outbreaks in both animals and humans. The project leverages village, commune, district and provincial implementation experiences to provide evidence for planners and policy makers. This is done in close consultation with other key players such as the Food and Agriculture Organization and World Health Organization of the United Nations and the Partnership on Avian and Human Influenza in Vietnam.
The project operates through three integrated components: Human Health, Animal Health and Behavior Change Communication.
2. Purpose of the work
In the coming time, project have a indoor working plan for documentary internal and across components, including database and filing system update to serve the monitoring and evaluation. APII engage an intern to assist in the systematic entry and handling of data from these activities.
3.Required Activities
Supervised by Animal health technical directors and the M&E Manager, the intern will:
- Assist in formatting, coding, listing and filing related documents and reports from a component internal library.
- Assist in updating and maintaining the component database including: Checking the participants list (electronic file and hard copies) of all related training courses, meeting and conferences; transferring the data from hard copies into electronic if any;
4.Deliverables
Monthly reports on the accomplished task assignments; updated databases and filing system.
Profile/Qualifications:
- Currently studying at a high school or university, prefer public health and/or animal health universities;
- Good at Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft application.
- Careful and enjoy to work with database and data entry.
