Event Officer

Background: The International organisation Vredeseilanden/VECO has a few big fundraising/awareness raising events targeting at the Belgian public, developed by the Head Office VECO Belgium in collaboration with one of the regions Vredeseilanden/VECO is working in.

This year, VECO Vietnam is chosen to take up the organisation of two events. 

1. Bike Classics: VECO Vietnam organises in association with VECO Belgium a fundraising and sportive event in april 2017: The ‘Vredeseilanden Classics’. During this event a group of 30 persons, who collect funds at home, will mountain bike in the regions where VECO has his program,  visiting touristic places, … . They enjoy the culture, nature and people of Vietnam and will return back home as real ambassadors of VECO.
2. Yearly Campaign 2017:  The whole year prior to the Campaign Weekend in Belgium (January 2017) supportive actions are developed in the country the campaign is focusing on. A visit of a group of volunteers and  students is planned in July 2016. They will play a role in the awareness actions in the schools, supported by a case from Vietnam, that is developed and presented by the staff of VECO Vietnam .

We are currently seeking for a qualified professional (Vietnamese) for the position of Event officer, based in VECO Mekong Regional Office, Hanoi, Vietnam. This position requires travelling in some parts of North Vietnam.

Position Summary: This person will be involved in two different events in Vietnam developed by Vredeseilanden Head Office:  Yearly Campaign (Fundraising/Awareness-raising) 2017 and Vietnam Bike Classics.  He/she ensures a good preparation and implementation of the activities in Vietnam with relation to the Yearly Campaign: visit of volunteers in July 2016, collecting stories, identification of interesting (media) cases he Vietnam Bike Classics: preparation of and participation at and follow up  of actions of the identification mission of VECO Belgium staff in april 2016. 

For both events she/he will work in close collaboration and coordination with staff of  Head Office in Belgium.

Duration: 5 Months Full-time, preferably starting from April 1 2016.

Basic requirements:

• Bachelor or Master (or equivalent experiences) in Communication, Marketing, Event organization or other relevant fields;
