Data Management Assistant
Job description – Data Management Assistant
Organisation: Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Vietnam
The Woolcock Institute is leading international lung health research organisation, affiliated with the University of Sydney in Australia (https://sydney.edu.au/). The Woolcock Institute has operated in Vietnam since 2009, we undertake large and important operational and epidemiological and clinical research projects in collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Program in 11 Provinces, including Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Woolcock also runs training in epidemiological and operational research methods for Vietnamese doctors and public health workers.
Currently the Woolcock directly employs 50 full-time staff in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau and other provinces.
Location: based in Hanoi
Duration: 12 months appointment, with consideration for subsequent extension
Roles:
To provide assistance to Data Manager and Study Teams in Data Management activities
Reports to: Data Manager
Key staff working with the project:
- Trial/Study Officers
- Trial/Study Managers
Main duties and Responsibilities:
Data Management:
- Assist in developing online and offline survey
- Assist in troubleshooting data submission errors and data error issues
- Provide support to the project team for Case Report Form/Query processing according to SOPs and policies as appropriate
- Assist in performing and documenting procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization and analysis
- Assist in data reporting and analysis
- Assist in producing weekly, monthly, annual data reports
- Assist in developing and update project’s dashboard
- Assist in defining and/or creating data listings, summary table validation, data specifications and/or process data transfers in preparation for statistical review and/or data management audit
- Assist in developing means to correct the problems
- Support Trial/Project Officers in checking data and IT’ problems
- Regularly back up data as assigned
- Perform other duties reasonably related to the position as directed by manager
Required education, skills and qualities
Education:
- University degree in Science, Public Health or related field and IT Professional Experience:
- Preferably at least 1 year of experience in data management for research projects.
- Working knowledge of medical research database applications
- Working experience with online data collection and management will be advantage (ODK, REDCap, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, etc.)
Skills:
- Highly motivated, willing to learn, good team work, service-oriented and able to work under high pressure and within a limited time frame
- Professional use of personal computer utilizing word processing, spreadsheet software programs (advance in Excel)
- Applicable knowledge working with statistic databases such as SAS, STATA, SPSS etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Good written and spoken English skill
- Ability to work with many different tasks
