Consultant
Plan is an international child-centered community development organization without political, religious or governmental affiliations. Plan has been cooperating closely with local authorities and partners in Quang Ngai since 2000. So far, the program unit has provided supports and facilitation for implementing development projects in 14 communes in 3 districts (Son Tinh, Son Ha and Ba To) in Quang Ngai, 2 of which are mountainous districts.
During July 2011 to 30th December 2012, Plan Program Unit in Quang Ngai was funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) an amount of $90,000 USD for implementing the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) in Son Thanh commune of Son Ha district in Quang Ngai province. The project aims to:
- Improved/set up mechanism for CLTS application and its sustainability at village, commune and district levels 100% of households involved in CLTS will stop OD and have alternative choice for ODF, using their own, available resources (local material, labor, etc.)
- Improved sanitation facilities for pre-school, primary and lower-secondary school
To date, all project activities have been completed including capacity building for district and community partners; behaviour change communication for local people and for pre-school and primary school children.
