VACANCY
JOB TITLE: Associate Program Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
Location: Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam
Contract Type: Local, Full Time (100% FTE)
Duration: One year (with possibility of extension based on performance and funds availability)
BACKGROUND:
Friends for International Tuberculosis Relief (FIT) is a registered non-profit organization working in the field of tuberculosis (TB) prevention and care service delivery, technical assistance, advocacy and research.
In collaboration with the National TB Control Program (NTP) and other partners, we are implementing innovative TB projects across 18 provinces of Viet Nam. Our work aims to 1) increase TB detection and treatment in key populations; 2) provide social support and adherence monitoring to improve TB treatment outcomes; and 3) scale up preventive TB treatments. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for the following activities:
Program Support (30%)
- Develop protocols to obtain local implementation approvals
- Develop and update implementation SOPs
- Develop project SOP and data system training materials
- Evaluate SOP adherence via site visits and data report reviews
- Promote data-driven implementation in weekly project meetings and during site visits
- Troubleshoot implementation issues and devise solutions
Donor Reporting & Engagement (35%)
- Review and verify project data reports
- Write quarterly (and annual) donor report narratives
- Supervise the collection and verification of National TB Program (NTP) data
- Analyze notification data to create project impact assessments
- Support ad hoc requests for data and narrative reporting from staff at FIT, government stakeholders, donors and other partners
Research Activities (35%)
- Prepare ethical approval/IRB applications for operational research activities
- Create research data sets using FIT project data
- Conduct advanced statistical analyses for conference presentations and scientific publications
- Support other FIT staff with statistical analyses
- Participate in manuscript development
- Other activities requested by FIT management
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Essential
- Detail oriented
- Strong communications skills
Academic credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to health, epidemiology, development, or management is required
- Master’s degree preferred
Work history
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Health-related work experience is strongly preferred
LANGUAGES REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required
