Agriculture Officer

Roots of Peace Viet Nam is seeking for a suitable candidate for the position of Agriculture Officer with the TOR as follows:

Terms of Reference for Agriculture Officer, SHADE Project

- Assist Roots of Peace Management in selecting farmers for participating in the production of pepper
- Assist in establishing and conducting the on-farm pepper demonstrations and the Farmer Field Schools
- Provide weekly work plan to Roots of Peace Management
- Work collaboratively with the Local Government in assisting the farmers 
- Train farmers to improve their cultivation knowledge in best production and post-harvest practices
- Provide technical assistance to selected farmers on improving their production and post-harvest practices
- Assist in the formation and development of farmers clubs
- Meet weekly with Roots of Peace Management to discuss project progress, implementation and challenges, etc.
- Submit monthly reports to Roots of Peace Management 

Job Requirements

- Vietnamese with a 4-year college degree in agriculture
- At least 2 year experience working in agricultural production and/or post-harvest or in other rural/agricultural enterprise development work
- Good communication and facilitation skills, ability to communicate in English is a must.
- Good computer skills with Word, Excel and Power Point
- Willing to travel to many provinces
- Based in Quang Tri Province

Salary: competitive

The period of the TOR is one year and can be extended
