History of operations in Vietnam
Helvetas has been working in Vietnam since 1994, in the sector of Agriculture, Forestry, and Rural Development. Today our program focuses on governance, local planning, democracy and human rights, water and sanitation, value chain development in agricultural commodities, handicrafts and natural ingredients. Promoting gender and social equality and enhancing the participation of ethnic minorities are the main priorities for the coming years. In Vietnam, Helvetas has 52 national and 2 international staff working in 7 offices (in Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Cao Bang and Hochiminh City and Mekong Delta). The annual budget is around 2,5 million USD.
