Mission Statement
DWF í a non-profit organisation working to develop local capacities to improve the living conditions of inhabitants of less-developed anf threatened communities. It has a focus on the reduction of potential damage and the resolution of difficulties that result from environmental and demographic change and from man-made and natuaral disasters. DWF's activities cover shelter improvement, settlement upgrading, water supply and sanitation, small enterprise development, and support and training for traders and artisans.
History of operations in Vietnam
DWF began disaster preparedness activites in Viet Nam in 1989 - 1992 by demonstrating storm resistant building techniques in Hue and Thanh Hoa. DWF has been working in Thua Thien Hue province since December 1999
