Mission Statement

Building on a lifetime of public service, President Bill Clinton established the William J. Clinton Foundation with the mission of strengthening the capacity of people throughout the world to meet the challenges of global interdependence. Today, the Clinton Foundation works to alleviate poverty, improve global health, strengthen economies, and protect the environment, by fostering partnerships among governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and private citizens — leveraging their expertise, resources, and passions — to turn good intentions into measurable results.

History of operations in Vietnam

The Clinton Foundation signed an MOU with the Government of Vietnam, represented by the Ministry of Health, on December 12, 2005. The Clinton Foundation was given an official license to operate as a non-governmental organization in Vietnam May 5, 2006. President Bill Clinton signed with Minister of Health Tran Thi Trung Chien an agreement on 6 December 2006, accessing the UNITAID fund, to provide free commodities for all children living with HIV/AIDS who are eligible and have access to care and treatment in Vietnam, including ARV drugs and laboratory testing.
