WB to Finance $230M to Upgrade 89Km of 4 National Highways

The World Bank has agreed to fund $230 million for a project to upgrade 89 kilometers of four National Highways out of the total costs of $305 million in Vietnam, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong told the Dau tu newspaper. An agreement on the fund will be signed soon after the final work of Vietnam’s road-improving project (WB4) is completed in the third quarter this year, Truong said. Under the project, four National Highways of 8B in Ha Tinh province, 38 in Hung Yen province, 12B in Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces and eleven bridges with a combined length of 25 meters will be upgraded. Besides, 548 km of roads will be upgraded as well.
