Vietnam Students Receives U.K. Prince-Funded Scholarships

Three Vietnamese students have been granted scholarships worth $30,500 each from a U.K. prince fund for the school year 2010 – 2011, state media reported Oct 12. The scholarships were announced at the founding ceremony of the Andrew Prince Scholarship Fund in British University Vietnam (BUV) in the presence of the U.K. prince. Excellent high-school students are qualified to get the scholarships.
BUV is the first British-invested university in Vietnam that offers a choice of prestigious degrees. BUV is regarded one of foreign universities which makes available world-class effective education in the Southeast Asian country. Vietnam is warned of international universities which is said to “fail to meet required standards.” However, the country will tighten control over the quality with the operation of an educational verification institute.
