Vietnam Spends $925.55M to Cleanse Environment Yearly
The Vietnamese government is estimated to spend VND17.678 trillion ($925.55 million) a year to implement environment-cleansing and pollution reduction projects in craft villages and industrial parks. Vietnamese authorities are imposing four fees of environment protection on wastewater, solid waste, petroleum products and mineral exploitation, the Dau Tu Tai Chinh newspaper reported last week. A survey conducted by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) on 300 firms showed that the fees are not strict enough to limit wastewater dumped by the firms. This year, Vietnam will spend VND6 trillion ($324.69 million) for environment protection activities.
