Vietnam Southern City Needs $352.63M for Anti-flood Project by 2020
Vietnam’s southern city of Can Tho needs VND6.7 trillion ($352.63 million) for a anti-flood project from now to 2020, the Southern of Institute for Water Resources Planning said at a meeting with the city’s leaders June 4. The project aims to build an embankment system surrounding the city center in order to prevent tides from Hau and Can Tho Rivers, Tac Ong Thuc and O Mon canals, the Dau Tu newspaper reported June 7, citing the institute. The city plans to mobilize international organizations’ aid for the project apart from state and local budgets.
