Vietnam Social Policy Bank Lends VND23T to Students by May

Vietnam Bank for Social Policy (VBSP) has lent VND22.54 trillion to nearly two million students by early May, the Lao Dong newspaper reported on June 14. The figures were up 75 times in value and 18 folds in volume from three months ago, the newspaper said. These loans have an average maturity of five years. VBSP is the sole provider of preferential loans for the poor and students in Vietnam. It has been approved to lend VND5 trillion to poor students this year.
