Vietnam Province Spends $21.69M on Drainage, Wastewater Treatment Project

Authorities of Vietnam’s central province of Quang Nam have decided to spend more than VND423 billion ($21.69 million) on a project of water drainage and wastewater treatment from now up to 2014. The project will be carried out in seven wards of Tam Ky city, aiming to reduce submergence and environment pollution, the Tuoi Tre newspaper reported Oct 8. In late July, local authorities also started building a wastewater treatment plant worth over VND69 billion in the North Chu Lai Industrial Park (IP) that is able to treat 3,800 cubic meters of wastewater a day once operational in late 2011.
