Vietnam Province Oks $24.57M Rural Clean Water Project by 2020

Authorities of Vietnam’s central highlands province of Kon Tum have approved a project on clean water supply and environmental sanitation in rural areas worth VND479.13 billion ($24.57 million) between 2010 and 2020. The project, which will focus on building 9,869 tap water supply systems and 51,959 hygiene latrines, is expected to benefit 25,763 households, the Nong Thon Ngay Nay newspaper reported Oct 18. Under the project, up to 166 work of clean water supply and environmental sanitations will be carried out in rural areas in the period of 2010-2013, including districts of Tu Mo Rong, Dak Glei, Kon Ray, Kon Plong, Dak To, Sa Thay and Dak Ha.
