Vietnam Makes Efforts to Improve Clean Water Supply
The Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (VWSA) Tuesday held a meeting in the southern province of Binh Duong to map out measures to reduce prices of clean water and improve the supply. Prices of water in Vietnam still remain high compared with that of other countries in the Southeast Asian region, Chairman of VWSA Nguyen Ton was quoted by the state-run Vietnam News Agency as saying March 9. The VWSA will increase its assistance to clean water providers nationwide in the coming months, Ton noted, adding that it will continue studying energy consumption in water production and improving human resources. Vietnam targets to supply clean water for 85% of its population by the end of this year.
