Vietnam Hails Spain Supports in Gender Equality

Vietnam has hailed Spain for the country’s significant supports in gender equality through a series of projects for the past years, state media reported Feb. 26.  Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa affirmed at the meeting with Soraya Rodriguez Ramos, Spanish Secretary of State for International Cooperation in Hanoi Feb 23, the Vietnam News Agency said Friday.  Hoa stressed the typical projects that facilitated Vietnamese women in economic development including dairy project for those in remote areas, peace house for those suffered from domestic violence and supervision board for gender equality. The chairwoman noted that the Spanish supports have improved women’s living conditions, wider range of social communication and better social position.  The government of Spain has also made efforts in anti-human trafficking to set up reliable consultancy centers for victims of transnational cases, Hoa added.
