Vietnam Aims to Rank 30th Worldwide in Math Education in 2020
Vietnam will try its best to be named in the list of 30 countries and territories in mathematics education, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said. To gain the goal, the country will focus on mathematics education at secondary and high schools and improve skills of math teachers, the Dat Viet newspaper reported, citing Nhan. Vietnam will also boost cooperation with foreign partners in the field, he added. The deputy PM has asked the Ministry of Education and Training to join hands with other agencies to work out a national mathematics education program and will submit it to the government for approval in June. Vietnam has won many medals at international Math Olympiads and now ranks 50-55 worldwide in mathematics education.
