U.S. Helps Vietnam Cope with Climate Change
The U.S.-Vietnam Climate Change Working Group yesterday began a three-day meeting in Hanoi to discuss measures to help Vietnam combat climate change. The group will map out an action plan and discuss the capability of Vietnam’s agriculture sector in adapting to climate change and solutions for possible natural disasters in the Mekong Delta region, said Tran Thuc, dean of the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Science. During the event, participants will make field trips to study climate change in the coastal district of Hai Hau, Nam Dinh province, the state-run Vietnam News Agency said April 1. Established in late 2008, the joint working group was part of a cooperation agreement between two countries.
