Alive & Thrive, a multi-year initiative (2009-2013) aimed at improving the nutritional status of infants and young children, is led by the Academy for Educational Development and in Viet Nam is being implemented through a joint partnership with Save the Children, GMMB, the International Food Policy Research Institute & the University of California, Davis.
Alive & Thrive is actively recruiting candidates for the positions outlined below. Demonstrated experience in effective interactions in a multicultural setting with a variety of stakeholders, including government and civil society actors, willingness to travel extensively and fluency in Vietnamese and English is a requirement for all positions. Salaries for all positions are commensurate with experience. As different Alive & Thrive partners will recruit specific positions, the responsible organization is mentioned in parenthesis along with the position. We are now looking for qualified Vietnamese nationals for the following positions:
1. Technical Specialist – Training (Contracting Organization: Save the Children, Base - Hanoi)
In collaboration with other technical specialists develop the overall training plan for A&T staff and partners. This includes but is not limited to health professionals & practitioners and grass-roots workers. Review, adapt and develop training manuals and materials. Liaise with key stakeholders on training design and plans. Coordinate with A&T partners (public and private) & identify training teams for implementation of training plan.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Medical, Nursing or equivalent training & experience
- Three to five years of direct training experience
- Excellent communication and writing skills
2. Technical Specialist – Private Sector (Contracting Organization: Academy for Educational Development, Base – Hanoi or HCMC)
Provide vision, technical leadership, management and coordination to develop and implement an overarching public-private partnership strategic framework for developing sustainable markets for fortified complementary foods. Identify market opportunities and appropriate commercial partners. Design and monitor performance metrics to measure success.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in business, economics, or equivalent training & experience
- 5-7 years experience in developing and managing public-private partnership programs for health, health social marketing, or marketing of packaged foods
- Working knowledge of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods market
3. Technical Specialist – Franchise Development (Contracting Organization: Save the Children, Base - Hanoi)
Develop the overall franchise model & implementation plan for A&T staff and partners. Review, adapt and develop franchise training manuals and materials. Liaise with key stakeholders on franchise training design and plans. Coordinate with A&T partners (public and private) & ensure quality control. Identify potential partners for expansion of franchises.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in business, economics, hospital management or public health
- 5-7 years experience in implementing franchise models (in public or private sector e.g. KFC)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills & ability to work with various stakeholders
4. Project Manager (Contracting Organization: Save the Children, Base - Hanoi)
Build and maintain effective linkages with A&T partners in assigned provinces/cities. Work closely with provincial partners public and private health practitioners) to implement A&T activities and assure goals are met. Provide input into development of budgets and workplans for assigned provinces/cities. Collect and collate monitoring data, ensure data integrity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor degree
- 2-3 years grass roots experience preferably in health sector (maternal and child health)
