Sweden Grants $1.7M Vietnam to Train Press Skills
Sweden will grant an aid of $1.7 million for Vietnam to organize about 40 activities to improve professional skills for Vietnamese journalists. The Swedish government-funded project on will be implemented by the press training centre in follow-up of its phases 1 and 2 in the 1997-2009 period, which helped train press knowledge and skills of 5,000 journalists and managers. The project, which is scheduled to begin this month, will organize short-term and on-the-spot refresher courses, workshops and press management courses. The project will also help improve capacity for officials of the centre in order to raise their skills in arranging training courses.
