Orbis Flying Eye Hospital to Train Surgical Skills for Vietnamese Doctors

The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, the world’s unique airborne ophthalmic surgical and training facility, started Aug 10 its program on transferring ophthalmic surgical technology and training for eye doctors in central Vietnam. Under the two-week program, 13 leading experts from the U.K, the U.S., Canada and Taiwan will provide training courses for 41 medical workers at the Danang Eye Hospital, the Tien Phong online newspaper reported Aug 11. The program will include providing medical checkups and treatment for nearly 500 poor patients in Vietnam’s central region. On the occasion, Orbis and the Hue Central Hospital also plan to offer medical checkups to 200 eye patients in Thua Thien-Hue province’s Phu Loc district, the newspaper added. Established in 1982, the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital has implemented 269 charitable programs to provide eye care and blindness prevention in 87countries so far.
